The Serbian government will ask Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic to schedule a session on the situation in Kosovo for Saturday. The Serbian government on Thursday called on international peacekeeping missions not to tolerate the unilateral moves from Pristina aimed at changing the reality and the ethnic structure in the province. Govt. wants parliament session on Kosovo "Behind the violent attempt to take control of the Jarinje and Brnjak checkpoints carried out by members of the (Kosovo) police special forces, does not lie the desire to establish law and order, but a clear intention to force a change of the overall reality in northern Kosovo through the use of force and at the cost of lives," the government said in a statement. "Unfortunatelly, there are many indications that the authorities in Pristina coordinated their operations with individuals from international institutions," said the statement. The Cvetkovic cabinet also called on all citizens to remain calm and not respond to provocations. The Serbian government's request came after opposition parties yesterday and today failed to agree and gather a sufficient number of MP signatures in order to call an extraordinary session of the national assembly dedicated to the worsening situation in the province.
