Serbian police (MUP) officers confiscated some 40 kilos of cannabis, officials said. The raid, which also resulted in the arrest of two suspects, cut a smuggling route from Montenegro to Serbia, MUP's Narcotics Department Chief Dragan Rakic told reporters in Belgrade today. MUP intercepts drug smuggling route Although the street value of the drugs seized this time is at approximately EUR 60,000, the MUP views the fact that one of the smuggling channels has now been cut as very important in itself. The raid took place yesterday near Stara Pazova, north of Belgrade, when the smugglers were caught as they loaded the cannabis onto a truck. The suspects were identified as Dalibor B., 23, from Belgrade, and Nikola V., 25, from Podgorica, now residing in Belgrade. The pair, who were also involved in illegal selling of drugs, were resisting arrest, Rakic revealed.
