BELGRADE The Serbian Police Directorate informed Ivica Dacic about that "heads of certain criminal gangs are intending to cause a failure on the government airplane". The directorate said that this information was obtained by the the Security Information Agency (BIA). "Criminal gangs planned Dacic airplane failure" The alleged sabotage was to take place "with the help of people who have access to the aircraft, during the travels of the president, prime minister, and first deputy prime minister". The Interior Ministry announced this late on Thursday. "The failure would cause partial damage, and after taking off, would lead to a plane crash, but it would not be possible to determine that the failure was caused deliberately, as the airplane has broken down several times lately," the release reads. After consultations with the prime minister and interior minister - who was yesterday in Ireland - and with First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, it was decided that they will continue with their "international activities", said the MUP. After talking with the plane crew, Dacic "decided to fly back to Belgrade on Thursday evening in the same plane", it was also announced. The MUP issued this release to the media labeling it "urgent". Once back in Belgrade, Dacic addressed reporters at the airport to say that the warning of possible sabotage did not concern the flight from Dublin - "but generally the possibility that a failure of the government plane could be caused". He would not specify which crime groups the report had in mind. The prime minister, who recently came under a lot of pressure when it was revealed that he had met with a member of a drug clan, said last night that "no crime group can influence the government's obligations and schedule", and that his cabinet would continue with its regular activities. Dacic also commended the police, its directorate, and BIA, who "for the first time did someting coordinated". (Beta, file) B92 Tanjug
