BELGRADE The Serbian government has made a recommendation to declare January 14 a non-working day. January 14 corresponds to January 1 in the Julian calendar and will be the first day of 2013. Julian calendar New Year to be non-working day The Julian calendar is used by the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) to mark religious holidays in Serbia. The recommendation was published in the Official Gazette. The government adopted a conclusion in which it recommended to state organs, business societies and other employers to allow their workers to take a day off on January 14. This should happen under the same conditions and in the same manner as during other state and religious holidays designated as non-working. Belgrade is decorated for the holidays (Beta) B92 Beta
