Presidents of Serbia, Croatia and members of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency will meet on Mt. Jahorina near Sarajevo on Friday. This will "confirm the three countries' orientation towards the strengthening of good-neighborly relations", it was announced. Leaders of Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia to meet One of the topics will be the Croatian President Ivo Josipovic's initiative to reach an international agreement which would facilitate the process of prosecuting persons responsible for war crimes. The previous trilateral meeting, held in Brioni in July 2011, was dedicated to cooperation in the process of EU integration and possibilities of establishing stronger ties in terms of compatible economies of Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia. This year's meeting will be held in substantially changed political circumstances, bearing in mind that Croatia now has a social democratic government, which is more attuned to the regional initiatives of President Josipovic. As Tanjug learned at the Croatian president's cabinet, Josipovic will propose that prosecuting war crimes be facilitated by reaching an international agreement, which could be bilateral or trilateral, and which, among other things, would determine that war crimes indictees be tried on the territory of the country whose citizenship they have. The aim of Josipovic's initiative is to permanently and systemically resolve the issue of prosecuting persons suspected of having committed war crimes in the region, in order not to have any more cases like Tihomir Purda's, who was arrested in Bosnia last year on a warrant from Serbia. Such an international agreement, as Josipovic's cabinet believes, could be taken as the only alternative to the disputable law on nullity of certain legal acts of the judicial authorities of the former Yugoslav People's Army, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Serbia, which were adopted by the administration of the former Croatian prime minister Jadranka Kosor in the last days of their mandate.
