DSS: Criticism of govt., not opposition

Opposition DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica said that his party’s policies are based on criticizing the government rather than debating with the opposition. “We will conduct our own policy of strong criticism of the government, because the government is responsible for ruining the country,” Kostunica said on Wednesday. DSS: Criticism of govt., not opposition He added that the policies which his party represents, of keeping the state united while helping to develop it, set the right path of the political scene in Serbia. He said that Serbia will not be a two-party system, because this was not realistic or a part of its tradition. Kostunica added that the policies of DSS take up a lot of space on the scene because they are the “policies based on national interest, the rule of law and the development of the Serbian economy”. “This does not means that it is not possible for us to cooperate with opposition to get new elections announced, it means that DSS will lead its own policies and insist on our third political path. I am convinced that our policies are the best ones for Serbia,” Kostunica said. His comments came shortly after reports that DSS officials, and those of the largest opposition party, SNS, engaged in a public exchange where they declared themselves “rivals”.
