Croatia's prosecution has started proceedings against three men for withholding evindence related to Operation Storm. The three are former Croatian military officials, Zagreb daily Jutarnji List writes. Charges for withholding Storm evidence The Hague Tribunal has accused the government in Zagreb of covering up proof of crimes committed during this military and police campaign. Marin Ivanovic, Marijan Krepic and Jurisa Sare, who are aiding the Hague defense of former Croatian general Ante Gotovina, are suspected of being responsible for the disappearance of 380 special police war reports, and artillery logs of the final operations in the Knin area, the newspaper adds. The missing documents are important in order to prove that the artillery fire on Knin was excessive, but also to clear up the role of police in the massacres of Serb civilians in nearby villages. The 1995 operation drove close to 250,000 Croatian Serbs out of the country.
