At least ten anti-government protesters have been killed and dozens wounded after gunmen opened fire on marchers in the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Wednesday. The latest round in months of violence erupted as demonstrators attempted to break out of the area, close to the city’s university, where thousands have been camped out since protests against the decades-long rule of President Ali Abdullah Saleh began. Protesters now plan to close the port because its “revenues are used to fund the thugs” said one.
