Dijana Hrkalović in the Special Court - the main trial postponed

The trial is set to begin today.

Tanjug's reporter reports in front of the Special Court that two police vehicles, as well as one Gendarmerie van, passed Ustanička Street from the direction of the District Prison in the past twenty minutes and entered the parking lot of the Special Court.

It is assumed that Dijana Hrkalović is in one of the vehicles.

However, her trial will not take place today because her new defense attorney asked for a postponement in order to get acquainted with the case file and prepare for the defense, considering that he was hired on Monday.

The new defense attorney of former State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Dijana Hrkalović, lawyer Vladimir Djukanović, told Tanjug that yesterday he asked the court to postpone the start of the trial of his client, scheduled for this afternoon in the Special Court, in order to get acquainted with the case and prepare defense.

Djukanovic took over the case against Hrkalovic yesterday and visited the Belgrade District Prison for the first time, where she has been since December 24, when she was detained for the second time at the insistence of the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime.

"Dijana Hrkalović is no longer what she used to be, but she stands firmly with both feet on the ground and is aware of what they are accusing her of," Djukanović revealed for Tanjug.

He added that the defense will try to challenge all these accusations in the further course of the procedure. He pointed out that he entered the case at the request of Hrkalović, whose brother called him last week.

Djukanovic says that he is sorry that her previous defense attorneys left the case, because he believes that they did their job in the best possible way, considering that it is a top law office.
