Marko Nikolic was Thursday unveiled as the new head coach of Partizan FC, making a return to the Belgrade club after 17 months.

"It has not been a long time since I have been here. There is no time and the pressure is big, but that is a part of this club," said Nikolic, who will succeed Ivan Tomic, who resigned Sunday following a 2-1 away defeat to Napredak in the Serbian Superliga.

Nikolic will make his second debut as Partizan head coach in next weekend's game against Vojvodina Novi Sad, another of his former clubs.

Partizan sacked Nikolic last March after two draws, at a time when his team was on top of the league table.

"I left the job unfinished. There have been many surprises since the beginning of the season, but quality always comes through in the end and I believe we will be celebrating," Nikolic said, adding that turning down an offer from Slovan Bratislava in favour of Partizan had been an easy decision to make.
