Instagram removes account showing destroyed Serb churches

"We have been told that we are posting disturbing images, and we simply posted the truth - the burning of Serb churches and monasteries, the holy places, the destruction of monuments, tombs, and so on," said Nemanja Bisevac, one of the account's administrators.

The campaign of the group, "Students for Truth," aimed against Pristina's bid to join UNESCO, has been supported in one week with over 130,000 signatures to an online petition.

Bisevac said the goal was to gather 200,000 signatures by November 9 when a vote is expected in UNESCO, and that they were making efforts to promote their campaign online.

The Student Office was opened on October 29 and is managed by students of the University of Pristina temporarily dislocated to Kosovska Mitrovica. They have been joined by colleagues from universities in central Serbia, Montenegro, and the Serb Republic in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
