There have been a total of 2.03 million tourists in Serbia in the period between January and November this year.

2 million domestic and foreign tourists in 2014

The number of domestic tourists was 1.08 million - down by nine percent - but they still accounted for 53 percent of the total in the first eleven months of this year.

There were 952,127 foreign guests, which is a 12-percent increase.

There were a total 5.7 million overnight stays, which is down by seven percent from the first eleven months of last year.

Serbian tourists brought 3.7 million overnight stays - which is a 14-percent drop compared to last year - and accounted for 65 percent of this year's total.

Foreign tourists registered 2 million overnight stays - nine percent more than in the period between January and November 2013.

The highest percentage of Serbian guests (43 percent) visited spa centers, followed by mountain resorts (30 percent).

Foreign tourists (51 percent) were mostly staying in Belgrade.

In terms of overnight stays, Serbian tourists were mostly staying in Vrnjacka Banja (spa), registering 412,021 overnight stays - 18 percent less than last year - as well as on Mt. Zlatibor, Mt. Kopaonik and in the capital, Belgrade.

Foreign tourists registered 1.02 overnight stays in Belgrade - 11 percent up compared to a year ago - with Novi Sad, Mt. Zlatibor and Vrnjacka Banja as the other most visited destinations.

The number of tourists from Bosnia and Herzegovina (151,903) rose by four percent compared to a year ago, accounting for most of the foreign tourists, followed by Russian, Montenegrin, German, Croatian and other tourists.
