Qualifying for the Olympic Games is a great success in itself, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić said on Thursday in Sochi.

President attends flag raising ceremony in Sochi

"I wished the athletes to do as well as they can in the competitions. Winning at the Olympics is not easy, but getting there is not easy either, so it is a great success", Nikolić told the RTS.

With the flag-raising ceremony, the Serbian Olympic team was welcomed to the 22nd Winter Olympics in Sochi.

In addition to the eight athletes, the heads of the Serbian Olympic mission and President Nikolić, the ceremony was also attended by Serbian Minister of Youth and Sport Vanja Udovičićc, Serbian Ambassador to Russia Slavenko Terzić and Vlade Divac and Đorše Višacki, president and general secretary of the Olympic Committee of Serbia.
