2,500 Serbians still snowbound

Rescue teams have delivered help to almost 10,000 households in the past 24 hours, Interior Ministry’s Emergency Situations Sector has stated. Emergency Situations Sector Head Predrag Maric told Radio B92 that it had been impossible to deliver the necessary help to certain household until yesterday. 2,500 Serbians still snowbound “The number of people that are still cut off from the world and that could only be reached by helicopters is now 2,500. The total number of rescued people during the state of emergency has risen to 294, 22 people were killed and one person is missing,” he pointed out. “Forming of the expert-operative team was the right move. The team will monitor flood defense on both large and small rivers and torrential floods and it will propose concrete measures to the republic Emergency Situations Staff on a daily basis,” Maric explained.
