Most Serbians will likely celebrate the New Year at home or taking part in festivities in the streets of cities and towns across the country. According to Tanjug reporters, the New Year will be celebrated "merrily and with fireworks", with local governments stepping up as organizers. Towns organize New Year celebrations Belgraders and their guests will gather in front of the parliament building for performances from domestic pop stars, fireworks and ice-skating in an outdoors ice rink. In Novi Sad, those who choose to greet 2010 outdoors will be entertained by punk-rock bands at the central Liberty Square, whereas at Mladenca Square, traditional folk music will be played. The New Year celebration organized by the Nis Cultural Center in the south of the country will start with current music hits, but at the stroke of midnight, people will celebrate "with trumpets and fireworks", reports said.
