The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that the swine flu would be spreading quickly in the coming months, and infect more and more people. Serbian epidemiologist Predrag Kon said that he does not expect schools to be closed this fall because of the flu, but warned that it is most important that those who are infected stay home from school. Swine flu won’t affect schools Kon told the Beta news agency that reacting in time is the most important thing for following the absences of students from school and employees from their jobs because of the flu. “Taking into consideration the situation in Serbia, I do not expect that the schools will be closed in September, but a system must be introduced for following those who have become ill,” Kon said. Kon is the president of a special working group of the Health Ministry for implementing a plan of action before and during a flu pandemic. Education Minister Zarko Obradovic also said that school is expected to begin on time this year.
