Head Mufti Muamer Zukorlic says that elections in the Islamic Community in Serbia will be held on Sunday. "If anyone wants to make problems about that, that will be our problem too, but also the authorities’. Islamic Community elections called The police have already offered us their assistance and have said that they’ll cooperate in a preventive capacity in order for the elections to pass off smoothly,” Zukorlic explained. He said that the vote would take place in every mosque in Serbia or in buildings owned by the Islamic Community, adding that the elections would be held in alternative locations “in places where temporarily at-risk mosques owned by the Islamic Community of Serbia are located.” Zukorlic said that Muslims in Serbia had very maturely preserved the Islamic Community in spite of the ordeals they had been endured since October 2007.
