Martić verdict expected on June 12
In the closing arguments on January 10 and 11 this year, the prosecution sought a life sentence, while the defense asked for Martić’s acquittal.Former RSK president and minister of the interior is charged with 19 counts of the indictment, including violations of laws and customs of war and crimes against humanity.
The prosecution alleges that Martić planned and participated in the murders, persecutions, torture and robbing of civilians in the RSK territory.
According to the indictment, Martić is responsible for the shelling of Zagreb in early May 1995 and the crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, committed by units under his control.
