Montenegro dispatches troops to help Serbian flood victims

After a conversation between defense ministers of Serbia and Montenegro, it was agreed that five rescue teams should be sent to Serbia, as well as one diving team and one medical team.

Members of the Montenegrin army will provide assistance to the citizens in the Belgrade municipality of Obrenovac where the population is currently most severely endangered by floods.

The Ministry of Defense also set aside material assistance which the Montenegrin government would donate to Serbia as humanitarian aid.

The Serbian embassy in Podgorica released that Montenegro put at Serbia's disposal two helicopters which can be used if needed.

The release also states that the Serbian embassy is constantly receiving calls by representatives of the Montenegrin government institutions, municipal assemblies, companies, organizations and citizens who wish to help Serbia in the repairs after the floods.

The Montenegrin volleyball team released that it will be raising funds late on Saturday during the qualification match in Podgorica against Croatia for the World Championship which will be sent to the people endangered by floods in Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina
