ZAGREB An explosion rocked Zagreb on Thursday night, only two days after a powerful blast hit railway tracks near the capital. A person who was injured in the blast is responsible for the last night’s attack as well as for planting an explosive device on railway tracks near Zagreb two days ago. Another explosion rocks Croatian capital Croatian police have detained another 14 persons suspected of being involved in the incidents. Officials say there are no elements that could qualify the incidents as terrorist acts. The explosion took place at a bus stop at 00:05 CET. Media reported that another bomb had exploded at the train station but the police denied the information. Croatian police official Vitomir Bijelic said that the "bus stop explosion was the only explosion last night". He added that the blast had no hallmarks of a terrorist attack. A motive for the attacks is still unknown. Index.hr has reported that the police have confirmed that injured V.B., 53, is responsible for planting the bombs. Zagreb-based daily Jutarnji list writes that his apartment has been searched. Police sources told the media that there were no indications that the suspect had connections to any organization and that this was an “individual act of an unstable person”. The investigation at the scene was finished around 13:00 CET and firemen, police and special units are still out in the streets of Zagreb, media have reported. According to the news outlet, he is suspected of a series of similar acts that took place before. Traffic in the part of the city where the bomb exploded was completely blocked all morning due to the investigation at the scene of the blast.
