A bomb exploded in front of weekly Galeria office in Sofia on Thursday. The weekly recently published transcripts of wiretapped phone calls that compromise Bulgarian high officials. The weekly's Editor-in-Chief Kristina Patrashkova slammed the blast, which took place at 5:45 local time, as “a political act of intimidation”. Galeria is close to an ex-security services chief who is currently at loggerheads with the government. It published a series of compromising phone calls by officials such as Customs Chief Vanio Tanov, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and some ministers in early January. The Bulgarian government has stated that the phone call transcripts are a manipulation.
