The government of the Serb entity in Bosnia, RS, confirmed the draft law earlier, which defines the technical question of holding a referendum, but not the referendum question. The law regulates if the referendum would be implemented by a special commission, not the state election commission or the municipal election commission. RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik said that he does not intend to announce a referendum on the secession of the RS from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Officials of the largest opposition party in RS, the Serb Democratic Party, stated that the party will not support the initiative. Party president Ognjen Tadic said that the SDS will submit amendments for the law, which will call for the parliament to speak on the parliamentary voting on constitutional changes and joining military alliances. “SDS will stand against such actions of the parliament to try and dedicate the will of the citizens through the majority by confirming or rejecting the results that are a result of any referendum,” he said. Tadic said that the proposed law gives the parliament such power.
