The issue of Kosovo's unilateral independence is threatening to cause a ruling coalition crisis in Zagreb. Vice-President of the Independent Serb Democratic Party (SDSS) Milorad Pupovac said that in the event of Croatia recognizing Kosovo independence his party would reconsider their position in the government. Croatia: Kosovo threatening government crisis “A decision by our government about a possible recognition of Kosovo's unilateral independence would bring our party and people into a delicate position. The risk is real that we will reconsider our decision about how we can participate in the present ruling coalition," Pupovac said in a short statement on Banja Luka’s Alternative TV. The SDSS is one of the members of Prime Minister Ivo Sanader's Croatian Democratic Union's (HDZ) governing coalition.
