Bosnian Presidency member Haris Silajdzic Thursday asked the chief Hague prosecutor to put further pressure on Belgrade. Serge Brammertz, who is currently visiting Sarajevo, was urged increase pressure in order to force Serbia to respect international law and arrest Hague fugitives, particularly Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzic. Silajdzic urges more pressure on Serbia According to a statement released by Silajdzic's office, he pointed out to Brammertz that "besides violating a series of UN Security Council resolutions over the past 12 years, Serbia has also openly been violating the ruling of the International Court of Justice in case of Bosnia-Herzegovina's lawsuit against Serbia for the past year". He explained that Serbia was "ordered to immediately arrest indictees for genocide, especially Mladic and Karadzic". Silajdzic underscored that continuous visits to Belgrade and statements by international officials on the need for such arrests "obviously do not produce results". "That is why he asked Brammertz about what could be done to force Serbia to finally start observing international law," the statement concludes.
