Former Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic says he will not withdraw from the presidential race in favor of Sasa Jankovic.

Jeremic: Opposition should have one candidate - me

"I've always said that, if regime change is our priority, it would be natural to unite around a candidate who has the best chance of winning. With all due respect to the others, I think that's me," Jeremic said.

He also send a message to Jankovic to focus exclusively on Aleksandar Vucic - "because these should not be elections to choose the leader of the opposition, but to defeat the regime."

"The main precondition for bringing down this regime and building a new system that works for ordinary people is to prevent Vucic from winning in the first round, which requires a high turnout," Jeremic said.

According to him, "everyone should concentrate on mobilizing as many people as possible, instead of exhausting themselves in negotiations."
