Jovanovic also revealed he would "go to the Srebrenica commemoration again" even though he was criticized because of it this year.

He told the N1 broadcaster that he sees the Serbian government as something more than "Vucic's right to make use of that institution" thanks to the votes he received in the April election.

"For me that is the government of my country. Serbia has serious problems. I don't want to keep my head in the sand, I want to solve those problems," said Jovanovic.

The LDP leader said that Serbia's new government has not yet been formed "because it's possible the PM-designate still has dilemmas when it comes to its composition."

"What is important is that we (LDP) cannot be the cause of such a position. We are not blackmailing anyone, we are not insisting on a seat in that government. It would be good for this country if we were to come to an agreement," he said.

Speaking about Srebrenica, Jovanovic said that the "genocide" qualification was not an expression of a whim of his, "considering that the International Court of Justice qualified it in that way ten years ago."

"It did not accused Serbia of genocide, it accused Serbia of doing nothing to prevent it, and of not sanctioning those responsible," said Jovanovic, adding that he "never demeaned the victims of the Serb people" and that "the greatest price has been paid by Serbs."

As for the Serb Republic (RS) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the LDP leader "does not think it should be abolished."

"The RS is a hostage to (President) Milorad Dodik's political madness. Nationalism is prolonging what is necessary, and that is changes," said Jovanovic.
