SRS leader and Hague indictee Vojislav Seselj also paid his respects, as did former Serbian prime minister Nikola Sainovic, who has been found guilty by the same court.

Speaking for B92, Mrkonjic said he was in Pozarevac today "as a friend" and that he expects "nobody in the SPS to hold it against him."

He added he would let SPS leader and Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic know "how it went," and remarked that more people turned out this year than on previous anniversaries.

Toma Fila, meanwhile, stressed there were "no divisions" inside the party.

The former Serbian and Yugoslav president died ten years today of a heart attack, while in detention of the Hague Tribunal, and as a defendant in an ongoing war crimes trial. Milosevic was charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Croatia and Kosovo, and genocide in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Since state and city authorities in Belgrade at the time of his death would not allow a state funeral requested by the family and top officials of the SPS, and for that reason Milosevic was buried in the yard of his widow's family home in Pozarevac.
