Pristina: Police, protesters clash, tear gas in assembly
Inside the assembly, the opposition once again attempted to enter the hall during a sitting, and after failing in this intention activated tear gas in the corridor in front of it.Opposition deputies in this way interrupted the sitting that had the draft 2016 budget on the agenda.
The presidency of the assembly decided to hold the meeting "in an alternative space" after the opposition once again used tear gas to interrupt its work, member of the presidency Slavko Simic told the Beta agency.
Albin Kurtin, a deputy from the radical Self-Determination party, said he used pepper spray "in the direction of PM Isa Mustafa and the government" and that he did this because of the agreement on the Community of Serb Municipalities, the Koha website.
Reuters is reporting that Kurti, "who has set off tear gas in parliament several times in recent months," today "fired pepper spray at police."
"I pointed the pepper spray at the prime minister and the government because they created the 'association' (community). The police just happened to be in the wrong place," he said.
