Poll: Turnout in elections to reach 57 percent

The latest B92/Ninamedia poll, published on Tuesday, shows that 57 percent of eligible voters in Serbia plan turn out and cast their ballots on March 16.

Poll: Turnout in elections to reach 57 percent

12.8 percent of respondents said that they will "probably vote," while 10.2 will "probably not" turn out at the polls.

14.4 percent of Serbians are currently certain they will not vote, while 5.6 percent are still undecided.

The Progressives (SNS) and their coalition can count on 43.9 percent of votes. Their support has ranged from 43 to 45 percent since Ninamedia started conducting its surveys.

The SPS-led coalition today has 14 percent, while the Democrats (DS) and the NDS, led by Boris Tadić, can count on 9.4 and 7.4 percent, respectively.

The Liberal Democrats (LDP) are still below the five-percent threshold, with 4.6 percent of respondents saying they would vote for this party, while the URS has 3.9 percent. The Radicals (SRS) are currently at 3.4 percent.

The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) would cross the threshold and win seats in the next parliament, with 6.5 percent of votes.

The Dveri Movement is at 3.3 percent, while former minister Saša Radulović's lists has 1.6 percent.

The latest surveyl was conducted using the so-called tracking poll method, from March 7 until March 10, and included a total of 1,200 respondents, excluding the territory of Kosovo.

Next Sunday, Serbian voters will elect 250 MPs in one country-wide constituency under a closed list proportional system.
