MOSCOW Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Aleksandar Vucic conferred with Russia's Deputy PM for Defense Industry Dmitry Rogozin on Wednesday. He said that the Russian government was ready to help the Serbian government. Deputy PM wraps up visit to Moscow “Rogozin and I talked about all the important issues. It will take only a little time to specify some things and then we'll go out in public,” Vucic told Tanjug. “The Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation should start next week to make concrete steps towards establishing closer cooperation in the defense industry,” he added. The deputy PM said they had discussed how to encourage production and boost Serbian defense industry, how to employ more people and how to modernize the Serbian Army (VS). “We also discussed how to go into some kind of joint production ventures, and reach third markets,” he added. “I expect improved cooperation and as of Monday concrete plans on the basis of conversations that we had,” Vucic said, adding that the Serbian delegation found a great understanding from the Russian side. The Serbian official said that this year he expected a visit of Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov and added that the benefits of cooperation between the two states would be felt by all citizens of Serbia, especially the defense industry.
