President Boris Tadic said on Tuesday Serbia had kept its development potential in spite of the global economic crisis - "unlike many other countries". Tadic on Tuesday visited the town of Sabac in western Serbia, where he pointed out that foreign experts had recently stated in the media that within the next 10 years, Serbia could join the top 20 countries with the largest potential for development. Serbia "keeps its development potential" This is merely a chance for now, and the realization of the goal requires a definition of the country's economic and political direction, Tadic remarked. "Over the next 10 years, if we do not make mistakes and if we cut down on government expenditure and put the public sector in the hands of professional managers, which awaits us after the election, Serbia could become a very dynamic country," he believes. Tadic visited the Mlekara Sabac dairy plant and stated that the town "holds extraordinary potential for development". Boris Tadic (Tanjug)
