Govt. abolishes decree on apartments

Environment Minister Oliver Dulic stated that the government had abolished a decree allowing for buying of state-owned apartments "under specific conditions". Dulic, who is also in charge of spatial planning, added on Thursday that a new decree would be adopted so as to define the manner in which the state administration employees will buy apartments in future. Govt. abolishes decree on apartments Dulic told a press conference that his ministry will form a commission in cooperation with other ministries that will decide whether the purchase of awarded apartments will be at all possible in future, or whether the housing issue of employees in the state administration will be resolved via a mass construction of flats. He added that the government will launch and propose apartment construction in September or October. Dulic pointed out that the abolishment of the former decree that allowed affordable purchase of state-owned apartments to only one group of citizens "has corrected the unprivileged position of other citizens".
