Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has announced new arrests of those involved in corruption, including "politicians from the ruling parties". He told the Belgrade tabloid Press that some municipal presidents and company directors would be apprehended on suspicion of their involvement in corruption. Dacic announces "new arrests" The minister stated that this an operation "that police is keeping extremely secret", and that the public will "learn everything in several days". Dacic said that his own Socialists (SPS) "won't be exempt" should there be proof of their involvement in corruption. "I have said that to my own clearly! There'll be no hiding behind the party, and police will arrest them first, if there's evidence. If anyone from the SPS is proven to be corrupt, to be involved in crime or using the party for their personal interests, they will be arrested. We have embarked on the most incisive fight against corruption and crime and we are going all the way," Dacic was quoted as saying.
