EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn will speak with Belgrade’s most senior officials about continued reforms and accelerating Serbia’s progress toward the EU. Rehn will speak with President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and parliamentary party representatives. Rehn in Belgrade to discuss Serbian EU bid The main topic of conversation is expected to be Serbia’s intentions to submit an application for EU candidacy, even though Rehn said a few days ago that such an application would be premature, as the Interim Trade Agreement remains frozen. It is not yet known whether Serbian officials will take Rehn’s message to heart. Vladimir Todoric, a former EU integration adviser to the deputy prime minister, believes that Serbia should nonetheless submit an application for membership by the end of April this year. In addition to meetings with the president and prime minister, Rehn will visit parliament, where he is due to meet with the speaker and party whips. Rehn in Belgrade to discuss Serbian EU bid
