G17 Plus MP Stojanka Petkovic claims that the bomb thrown at her house yesterday evening was the work of Serbs. "Albanians didn't do this, this was the work of Serbs and I want the public to know this. My persecution as a politician began the moment I stood as a G17 Plus candidate, because I wanted to fight against corruption and crime, and for truth and justice," Petkovic told Mitrovica radio station, Kontakt Plus. One of our party's citizens' initiatives registered to stand in Strpac, Leposavic and Zvecan, but pulled out three weeks ago," she said. Petkovic said that she had recently received threats of an attack on her person, and that she had not believed them at the time. In the attack on her house yesterday evening, three explosive devices were thrown – one at her house, a second at the garage, and a third at her car. At the time of the attack, her husband, daughter, and mother-in-law were all inside the house. KPS spokesman Besim Hoti told Tanjug that no-one had been injured in the attack, though considerable damage had been inflicted to the garage and the car, an Audi A4. The KPS searched the scene, and an investigation is under way, said Hoti, who could not pinpoint the motive behind the attack. Democratic Party of Serbia MP and President of the Community of Serb Municipalities and Enclaves in Kosovo Marko Jaksic condemned the incident that took place in Zvecan, stressing that he expected the KPS to quickly locate and apprehend the culprits. Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardzic also condemned the attack on the Petkovic family home. "I condemn this act of violence in the harshest terms and request from UNMIK police and the Kosovo police service to find the perpetrators as soon as possible," Samardzic was quoted by the government website. "Just as before, Serbs live in fear and uncertainty and that with this act the perpetrators want to intensify those feelings among Kosovo Serbs. It is obvious that anxiety is growing in many people ahead of the resolution of the province’s status," he said. "Now that everyone, especially the Serbian side, wants to prove that it is possible to resolve the issue of the Kosovo status, it is very important to see clearly who makes those incidents and intimidates Kosovo Serbs," Samardzic concluded.
