Parliament to discuss Kosovo
Both the ruling parties and the opposition agree that the Parliament should be presented with a negotiating strategy. The government has decided to start with consultations with parliamentary caucuses on Monday so as to set the date and schedule the session.
Trade and Services Minister Predrag Bubalo confirmed that the session would take place in July as the negotiating team was expected to submit its report.
The Parliament should adopt a new resolution set to define the state policy towards the issue of Kosovo.
Democratic Party caucus chief Nada Kulundžija said she did not expect the new resolution to differ from the previous one.
“Preserving the territorial integrity, continuation of status talks without deadlines and predetermined outcome will remain the main points of Serbia’s official position regarding the issue. I do not expect any changes in that sense,” she said.
Serbian Radical Party (SRS) lawmaker Aleksandar Vučić warned that the situation was very serious.
“It is high time the Parliament discussed Kosovo. It seems that parliaments elsewhere around the world spend more time debating it than we do,” Vučić said.
