Six more prisoners have joined a hunger strike started in Bosnia by 25 prisoners accused of committing war crimes. The six prisoners convicted of war crimes joined the hunger strike of the remaining twenty-five, who have not eaten in six days, according to attorney Dusko Tomic. Bosnian prisoners on hunger strike The prisoners want the Bosnia-Herzegovina courts to hear their cases according to the war crimes laws of the former Yugoslavia, which were in effect when the crimes were allegedly committed, during the war in Bosnia. The previous laws seek shorter prison terms than current laws, adopted four years ago. War crimes indictees have been charged according to the old laws in all other former republics of Yugoslavia, except in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
