Montenegro's Tivat Airport breaks traffic records
Last Saturday, 7,166 passengers traveled through Tivat airport, of which 4,094 were traveling into the country—a 20 percent increase on figures for the same time in 2006, the Visit-Montenegro.com website reported.MA Ranko Bošković told Vijesti newspaper that this figure could have been larger, but for certain extenuating circumstances, including delays caused by a jam necessitating the diversion of two aircraft carrying 630 passengers to Podgorica.
According to the World Airport Guide, Montenegro is "one of the world's hidden secrets," featuring 117 beaches.
"Now this tiny republic plans to put itself firmly back on the map," the guide states.
