Slovak company Tatravagonka is looking for metal processing sector workers from Serbia to boost its work force. Slovakia-based Tetravagonka, one of Europe’s top three producers of railway cars, is on a hunt for workers in Serbia, looking to employ more people in order to fulfill itsannual production plan. Slovak factory wants Serbian workers Tetravagonka is looking for 500 workers at the moment and plans to employ 800 new ones over the next two years. The Slovak wagon manufacturer is short of domestic welders and metalsmiths and is thus forced to “import” workers from abroad. It has already contracted workers from Vietnam, spreading the search to Ukraine and Serbia. It offers a EUR 660 wage and a one-off stimulative payment of EUR 1,000 with paid accommodation and transport expenses. Tetravagonka aims to produce 1,450 wagons this year, 2,200 in 2008, while the projected annual average should reach 3,000 wagons by 2012.
