Triple murder near southeastern Serbian town

A married couple and another woman, their neighbor, were found dead on Thursday evening in the village of Krusevica near Vlastonice in southeastern Serbia. An investigative judge told B92 that the victims were identified as Vida and Cedomir Markovic, aged 77 and 81 respectively, and 83-year-old Smilja Ivanovic. The judge also said that there were "pools of blood" around the victim's bodies, and that "two axes were found in the house", but added that he "did not wish to speculate" on how the they died, or about the motive for the murders. According to the same official, the victims were "most likely" killed several days ago. Police reacted after relatives reported that the Markovics had "gone missing". An investigation is ongoing, it has been announced.
