Serbian police (MUP) have arrested four persons on a warrant of the War Crimes Prosecution. They are accused of war crimes allegedly committed in Croatia in 1991. Four suspected war criminals arrested Those arrested are former members of SUP (Secretariat of Internal Affairs) in the municipality of Beli Manastir. The fifth suspect for the crimes allegedly committed in the municipality is also a member of the same unit of armed police officers from SAO Eastern Slavonija, Baranja and Western Srem that the four arrested suspects belonged to. According to the statement, the investigative judge of the Belgrade District Court War Crimes Trial Chamber issued a demand for an investigation into the five persons suspects of killing at least six non-Serb civilians, an other charges such as torture, terror, inhumane actions and illegal imprisonment. The case was handed over to the Serbian prosecution from their colleagues in Croatia in 2008, based on the agreement for cooperation in the prosecution of war crimes and genocide, the statement adds.
