Jovica Stanisic’s health has improved, but he is still unable to follow his trial in court for longer than 10 minutes, says a Hague Tribunal doctor. Stanisic, the former head of the Serbian security services, and his deputy, Franko Simatovic, are accused of crimes against Croats and Muslims in Croatia and Bosnia-Hercegovina between 1991 and 1995. Stanisic still unfit to stand trial Their trial is due to get under way at the Hague in June. In a report published on Thursday, the Tribunal doctor wrote that Stanisic had told him that the “small improvement” in his condition currently meant that “he can stand up and walk for between 10 and 15 minutes,” and that he could eat, sitting at a table for “up to 10 mnutes.” According to the report, the accused was recently examined by a neurologist, who established the difficulties Stanisic was having standing up and walking were not a result of neurological problems.

Their trial is due to get under way at the Hague in June.

In a report published on Thursday, the Tribunal doctor wrote that Stanišić had told him that the “small improvement” in his condition currently meant that “he can stand up and walk for between 10 and 15 minutes,” and that he could eat, sitting at a table for “up to 10 mnutes.”

According to the report, the accused was recently examined by a neurologist, who established the difficulties Stanišić was having standing up and walking were not a result of neurological problems.
