Police have arrested eight more people in the continuing investigation of the murder of police officer Vladimir Grandić, according to the Interior Ministry.

Police have arrested eight more people in the continuing investigation of the murder of police officer Vladimir Grandic, according to the Interior Ministry. The suspects—Zoran Jovanovic (30), Slavko Ristic (28) and Dusko Milovanovic (27) from Valjevo, Danijel Tomic (19) from Koceljeva and Nenad Matic (27) and Aleksandar Majmunovic (24) from Belgrade—have been remanded in custody for a period of 30 days. New arrests in case of murdered policeman Ivan Nikolic (36) from Bosnia-Hercegovina and Vladimir Vojnovic (25) from Lazarevac are also in custody, according to the statement. Three days ago, the suspected murderer was remanded in custody for 30 days, along with five accomplices who participated in the robbery that preceded the shoot-out that night. Danijel T. (19) is accused of shooting the police officer and Nenad M. (27) is accused of being an accomplice to the murder. The court stated that Nenad M. and Zoran J. were suspected of attacking an on-duty officer, while Slavko R. and Danijel T. were accused of illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials. The four suspects, making their getaway from an armed robbery of a jewelers’ in Zrenjanin on Friday, April 10, were stopped by Grandic near a petrol station on the Novi Sad-Belgrade highway. According to police information, it is believed that Danijel T. fired at and killed police officer Grandic in the ensuing shoot-out. The suspect already has a criminal record for theft. Media reported earlier that Nenad M. has been on the run from prison since last September, while Slavko R. is suspected of heading a crime group and of being responsible for a number of robberies throughout Serbia. Along with the robbery and shooting suspects, an earlier suspended police officer, Vladimir Vojinovic, has also been taken into custody on suspicion of being involved in the robbery of a goldsmith’s in Pozarevac.

Ivan Nikolić (36) from Bosnia-Hercegovina and Vladimir Vojnović (25) from Lazarevac are also in custody, according to the statement.

Three days ago, the suspected murderer was remanded in custody for 30 days, along with five accomplices who participated in the robbery that preceded the shoot-out that night.

Danijel T. (19) is accused of shooting the police officer and Nenad M. (27) is accused of being an accomplice to the murder.

The court stated that Nenad M. and Zoran J. were suspected of attacking an on-duty officer, while Slavko R. and Danijel T. were accused of illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials.
