A man was placed under arrest in Novi Pazar today for shooting and seriously wounding Nedzad B., 19, early this morning. The suspect has been identified as Resad K., 34, Beta news agency reported, quoting local investigative judge Camil Hubic. Arrest after Sandzak shootout Novi Pazar police told the agency that the shooter and the victim met in the town's Cetinjska St. when the incident took place. Nedzad B. is treated in a local hospital. The wounds he sustained are serious, but not life-threatening, doctors have said. Police also said two more incidents involving firearms were reported last night. Activists of the Sanzak Democratic Party (SDP), led by Rasim Ljajic, reported they had been shot at from a moving vehicle early Saturday as they put up election posters. There were no injuries. Police continue to search for those involved in this attack. Also today, the Bosniak List for European Sandzak, led by Ljajic's local rival and Novi Pazar Mayor Sulejman Ugljanin, accused the SDP security and the Islamic Community in Serbia, under the leadership of mufti Muamer Zukorlic, of attempting to "pin this morning's internal showdown" on this coalition. The coalition also blamed Ljajic of "spreading fear among citizens, because he sees low turnout as his chance in the coming elections".
