A Molotov cocktail was thrown last night at 9 p.m. near the Radio Sto transmitter on Sultenovacki Hill close to Novi Pazar. B92 understands that the attackers threw the Molotov cocktail and cut cables around the transmitter. The Regional Television transmitter is also located nearby. Molotov cocktail attack in Sandzak Police blocked the road and turned off the power in the area, while according to initial reports, no one was injured in the attack. The transmitter is located close to all the other channels’ transmitters in the region, so that Novi Pazar citizens were left last night without any TV. To recap, Regional Television has already been the target of unidentified assailants who assaulted one of the station’s security guards, while on the same night an unknown attacker demolished a studio belonging to Jedinstvo Television. Regional Television is controlled by the Novi Pazar municipality, Jedinstvo is privately run, while Radio Sto is a subsidiary of the Beta agency in Belgrade. The latest incident last night came despite calls yesterday for calm from the leaders of the two rival local parties. Inter-Muslim tension has been running high over who runs the Islamic Community, an official organization of the Muslims in Serbia.
