The prime minister underscored that the bridge and slip roads will significantly contribute to the development of that part of Belgrade. He said that China is Serbia's important strategic partner and that Serbia would like to further strengthen friendly ties with that country, which will earmark certain amount for Serbia from its funds dedicated to projects in South Eastern Europe. The works on the Zemun-Borca Bridge covering 1.5 km started in late October 2011. The Chinese Exim Bank finances 85 percent of this EUR 170 million investment, and the remaining 15 percent are secured by Serbia and the City of Belgrade. The works with slip roads are priced at USD 260 million, and more than a half of these funds will go to the Serbian companies. (Beta) Tanjug
