BELGRADE Serbia's Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic met on Wednesday with Indonesian Deputy Minister of Trade Deddy Saleh. The two officials discussed "further improvement of the two countries’ economic cooperation", Tanjug reported. Serbia and Indonesia look to boost trade, investments During the meeting with the Indonesian delegation, Ljajic underlined that the political relations between the two states were "at the highest level, without any unresolved issues". Meanwhile, the Business Forum of Serbian and Indonesian business communities, to be held in Belgrade on Thursday, was "an excellent opportunity to boost our economic cooperation with the aim of increasing their trade and investment volumes". At the meeting they agreed that the Business Forum is the right place to define further steps in the improvement of Serbia and Indonesia’s economic relations, as well as that agriculture, the food industry and military-economic trade are areas where this cooperation can be most easily improved. Saleh underlined that Serbia "may soon become one of the most appealing investment targets for Indonesian investors in the region - bearing in mind its geostrategic position and the fact that it has access to the market with several million people through the CEFTA Agreement, the Interim Trade Agreement with the EU and free trade agreements with Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Turkey".
