The Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) has officially opened its office in Zagreb on Wednesday, said reports from Croatia's capital city. The aim of the office is "increase the presence of Serbian capital and companies on the Croatian market and improve the two countries' economic cooperation". On the other hand, the presence of Serbian companies and investments in Croatia is almost negligible, and the reasons for that have been numerous problems, from non-tariff barriers to discrimination against Serbian companies during the privatization of Croatian businesses. Trade between the two countries stood at USD 933.6 million in 2011, 26.7 percent higher than in 2010. Serbia's export to Croatia was at USD 466.4 million, rising by 52 percent compared to 2010, while import went up by 8.8 percent, reaching USD 467.2 million. The economic cooperation between Serbia and Croatia is improving, but there is a lot of room and potential for its progress in all branches, according to what was said at the opening ceremony.
