The 2012 inflation will be within the planned framework of 5.5 to 6 percent", considering the indicators at the end of 2011, says IZIT's Sasa Djogovic. Djogovic, who is an associate of the Institute for Market Research (IZIT), recalled at a press conference that deflation was recorded in December 2011 as consumer prices went down by 0.7 percent when compared to November. "2012 inflation within planned framework" The inflation in late 2011 decreased to seven percent owing to downward inflation trend mid 2011, better agricultural yield than in 2010, decelerating dynamics of prices of primary products in the world market and low domestic aggregate demand, along with restrictive credit-monetary policy of the National Bank of Serbia and the exchange rate as the anti-inflation anchor, he underlined. Djogovic recalled that the inter-annual inflation rate amounted to 14.7 percent, which indicates that the state i.e. the Serbian government was the main generator of inflation trends in the Serbian economy. According to him, in the first and early second quarter of 2011 the inflation was incited by the government's excise policy and its decisions on increase of prices of products and services under its integration, as well as the negative effects of agricultural yield in 2010.
