Serbia's trade unions say they will organize strikes and protests over the government's draft changes to the law on the pension insurance fund (PIO). Representatives of five unions said in Belgrade on Friday that the proposed changes to the existing legislation aim to significantly reduce the rights of pensioners. The union leaders also said that they now demand the withdrawal of the draft from parliamentary procedure, and a new one to be put together in agreement with the unions. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said that the government was ready to talk with the unions.
